It's amazing how the words you use can be empowering or disempowering. It's so easy to talk yourself out of things. When I woke up at 5:30AM on Monday morning to get ready for my 6:00 AM swim, I heard the self-talk in my head. I should get up and go to my session because it is good for me. I listened to my own language and realized that I have already disengaged and don't really want to go. When I changed my language to I am going to my swim session, something shifted in me. When I then changed it to I choose to attend the session I felt fully engaged and full of power.

In my office, I have the words Dream it, Plan it, Do it hanging on my wall where I can see it. These words serve as a constant reminder that, in order to make anything happen, you have to dream it first. You need a clear vision of what you want to happen.  When you put your dream into words by saying it out loud or, better yet, by writing it down, you lay the foundation for the plan that will make your dream come true.
